2018年01月13日 托福口语考题解析
Task 1
Professors would like to alter individual work to group work. What are the advantage and disadvantage.
解析:
本题属于开放类,不过还好不是advantages and disadvantages双复数题目。从2014-2017,整个独立题考双复数题目的开放类题目总共10道题。最近一次是2017年12月17日的考题。这个题需要大家说一个好处和一个坏处。这点还是比较人性的。
Advantage:
①to cultivate the sense of teamwork. 具体解释可以这样说:When working on projects with other students,one needs to cooperate with his partners, such as collecting the materials and going through the literature, which will be a good way to share the tasks of the group
②to improve the quality of their work.具体解释可以这样说:I was doing research with a group once where everyone proposed different opinions on the topic we were probing into. By brainstorming and discussing, various ideas provided us with more comprehensive research methodology.
Disadvantage:
①students may be overdependent on others. 具体例子是:I used to write a paper with my classmates, but a guy named Tom was just copying key data from others instead of calculating by himself which went against his independent thinking.
②to reduce the work efficiency.具体解释是:If students spend time learning together, some of them may be absent-minded during the study time, for they may talk about irrelevant topics which will delay their fixed schedule.
Task 2
Which one is better? Persuading your friends and family to change their ideas, or respecting their ideas.
解析:
这个题目是一个prefer类型的题目。大家需选出来一个。而答题思路可以有pros1-pros2;pros1-cons2;cons2-cons2.
这道题与2017.10.15日那道超长的家庭教育类题目很相似,都有是“让某人自己去做决定还是通过外力去左右他的决定”的答题点。
选前者
①to improve the feasibility of the ideas. 具体例子这样表达:My cousin is of
the age as me, and he sometimes makes irrational or impulsive decisions. The advice I usually offer is helpful for him to avoid making some potential mistakes.
②to enhance the relationship with friends.具体例子这样表达:My classmate Bob felt puzzled with his offers from two universities.I developed a closer friendship with him by discussing the pros and cons of each of the offers which shortened the distance between us.
选后者
①to strength the responsibility. 具体细节可以说:Young people should learn to be cautious about everything they do and every word they say.For there’s no turning back in one’s life, which will encourage them to think twice by themselves before setting about doing anything, or they may regret later.
②to benefit their own life in the long run. 具体例子这样表达:My uncle wanted to start a company of his own at the age of 18, with no one understanding him in his family. But his friends backed him up, for only they knew how much he had done for preparation which gave him much motivation. It was their support that helped him open up a new life.
Task 3
阅读 学校要取消computer borrowing program。
原因1:很少有人用。
原因2:学生可以去computer lab。
听力态度:男生 不同意
原因1:学生不用学习租给的电脑是因为电脑卡,慢,不好用。学校应该要升级一下电脑。
原因2:每个人都有laptop ,其便携性高,但是computer lab满足不了这一要求。
解析:
这个题目听力部分的叙述和阅读对应点比较直接,所以难度不是很大,并且与之前题目中说学校设备的题目也有很相似的点。
Task 4
阅读
标题:Aposematic Behavior
定义:a family of anti-predator adaptations where a warning signal is associated with the unprofitability of a prey item to potential predators.。
听力
例子:鸟吃了毛毛虫,不好吃还生病。然后毛毛虫看到鸟不躲,甚至还shake heads,鸟再看到它们就躲开了。
解析:
这个题目与之前考的Aposematism相似,例子换了一下。
Task 5
问题:女生准备一个dinner请客吃饭,准备开车去很远的地方买材料,舍友本来要借给她,现在不能借了,她也要用车。
解决方案1:骑自行车去买
缺点1:距离远、东西多,得跑两趟,没有时间做饭了
解决方案2:换一个recipe做,只要去local grocery买就行了
缺点2:但是做出来的饭菜没有那么正宗和特别了
解析:
如果选1,对于缺点可以说:找朋友一起去带回来,然后请朋友一起吃作为感谢。
如果选2,对于缺点可以说:换一种菜做,利用现有的材料做其他的食物。
Task 6
话题:影响商业变better的两种internal constraints
要点1:物理方面:设施老旧,不好用
例子1:cash register收款机,顾客等太久了,烦了就不来了
要点2:员工缺乏足够的培训
例子2:supermarket超市,员工不能帮助顾客准确locate商品,引起顾客的不开心,不买东西就走了
总结:
本期考试独立题目稍稍有些不那么容易表达,其实知识点并不难,也是多少在重复之前的内容。综合题目有之前做的原题,只是将例子换掉了。整个综合题目的出题情况还是比较中规中矩的。

主题:commercial fishing on lionfish 商业化捕鱼
阅读:3个好处
1. ecosystem 会得到改善,捕获lionfish可以保护珊瑚礁
2.捕获lionfish可以发展鱼类产业,一些rare fish可以recover;
3.lionfish有丰富的营养:高蛋白低脂肪,可以用于日常饮食促进diet:
听力:
(1)人工捕捉无法区分lionfish 和其他鱼,很多 rare的鱼也都在coral reef ,会使其他鱼种 in danger
(2)引进市场会导致有人人工养殖。 Lionfish 如果从 fish farm人工养殖场 escape 跑掉,这就造成了更严重的 invasive 问题。
有些lionfish 吃一种微生物,微生物有毒,吃了以后会造成 vomiting numbness arching。虽然不是所有鱼都会保留这种毒素,但是需要先测试了才能吃。我们无法检验每一条鱼,所以吃他们unsafe.
